Fighter, Level I Course |

Fire fighter I training course was developed according to the objectives
in NFPA 1001.

The intent of the NFPA was to develop
clear and concise job performance requirements that can be used to
determine that an individual, when measured to the standard, possesses the
skills and knowledge to perform as a fire fighter. |

Performance testing is also required as part of the Fire Fighter I certification process in many municipalities and states. |

Any objective from NFPA 1001,
Level 1, which begins "Demonstrate..." or contains an action
verb such as "Climb..." or "Don..." is intended to be
part of performance testing. |

Successful completion of NFPA 1001 performance objectives includes performing the indicated activity within an established standard of time. |

|
Such performance standards are not included here because each jurisdiction
may determine for itself the properly allowed time period. |

|
Performance standards are not
specified in the objectives for NFPA 1001. |
